Seward Park

The Seward Park Cooperative (SPC) is a large residential complex located in the Lower East Side neighborhood of Manhattan. SPC is home to a multi-cultural community of over 5,000 New Yorkers ranging from the elderly to young families who represent and reflect the diversity of the neighborhood. SPC sits on a 13+ acre campus and is comprised of four 20-story concrete and brick buildings between Grand Street and East Broadway. In April of 2022, SPC’s Board of Directors engaged EmpireCore to oversee its ongoing and future capital improvement work.

In that time, EmpireCore facilitated the takeover, completion, and closeout of a 5-year, $21,000,000 Local Law 11-related project, as well as the planning and commencement of a $13,000,000 campus-wide elevator modernization and $12,000,000 brick wall-tie replacement effort. EmpireCore has also begun the planning and preconstruction phases of an elevator shaft extension project and assisted the Board of Directors with their Capital Planning and Project Prioritization of a wish list of campus improvement projects to undertake in the coming years.
